David Johnson, Co-Founder; President
David Johnson is a recently retired minister. He visited the leprosy center in 2013 with Eric and they both returned with a strong desire to begin efforts to move this community out of material and spiritual poverty. David’s heart for missions has led him to, among other places, Ecuador, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Iceland, France, Romania, Slovakia, Myanmar and Guatemala. He is also the Co-Founder of Cape Kid Meals, an organization that provides weekend food bags to children facing food insecurity on Cape Cod where he lives.
Tricia Johnson, Clerk
Tricia is a graduate of Bethel College and Lesley University and the recently retired Director of Family Discipleship at Grace Church of East Dennis. She worked as a special education teacher in her local elementary school and has co-led many mission trips, often to places that care for children in the developing world.
Paul Borthwick, Officer
Paul Borthwick, with his wife Christie, recently retired from the staff of DAI, (Development Associates International), a training group dedicated to the character and ministry development of leaders in the under-resourced world (www.daintl.org). Paul served as an adjunct professor in Global Christianity at Gordon College from 1985-2015. Through DAI, they now spend one to two months each year in ministry in other countries, mostly in Africa, Asia & Latin America. Paul and Christie have been married since 1979 and split their year between Lexington, Massachusetts and Sanibel, Florida.
Steven Conner, Officer
Steve has been on Cape Cod since 1961 and went to school in Harwich where he still lives today. He worked alongside his father in his boat repair company and received a degree in Computer Hardware Engineering from Wentworth Institute in Boston MA. He initially worked for a company making underwater sonar devices before owning a landscaping company. Before Steve retired in 2018, he was employed by the town of Brewster working at Captains Golf Course for over 20 years. Steve and his wife Kimberly volunteered for the Pan Mass Challenge for 21+ years. He has also ridden in the PMC six times to raise funds for cancer research at the Dana–Farber Cancer Institute. This effort really hit home in March of 2022 when his dear wife Kimberly passed away from a long fight with breast cancer.
Steve is a member of Grace Church in East Dennis MA where he also serves on the Mission Board, Steve has a special place in his heart for helping others and is very glad to be a part of the Kwatekeh Africa Board.
Kimberly Johnson, Officer
Kimberly is a Liberty University graduate working as a nurse in at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. She became a member of the Kwatekeh board in 2019 and her family has been long-time supporters of the work that Kwatekeh is doing in Liberia. Her hope is that with hard work and support, more lives will be changed for the better and more people would be saved into everlasting hope in Jesus’ name.
