Liberia Staff
Kwatekeh has several trusted staff members who are carrying out the work in Liberia faithfully and with excellence. Meet a few of them …
Eric Hanson, Co-Founder; Liberia Country Director
Eric Hanson, along with David Johnson, founded Kwatekeh Africa in 2014 after a trip to the Suakoko Leprosy Center, where Eric had worked in 1989 and 1990. He moved back to Liberia in February 2021 and lives at the leprosy center with his daughter, Surprise. Eric develops and coordinates programs that have had a significant impact on thousands of people.
John Yarkpawolo
John Yarkpawolo is the Kwatekeh Africa Farm Manager. John has lived at the leprosy center for most of his life and strives to provide everyone in the village with opportunities to escape the perpetual poverty they have always known. John is also the Town Chief for the Suakoko Leprosy Center.
Sumo Kezele
Sumo Kezele is Kwatekeh’s Program Manager: helping to coordinate all the projects at the leprosy center. Mr. Kezele is a Registered Nurse who works for the Ministry of Health's Bong County Health Team, and still finds time to manage Kwatekeh’s growing health care program.
JOHn Kpolon
John is Kwatekeh’s Project Coordinator: overseeing construction projects, the feeding and care taking of leprosy patients, assisting the Farm Manager, and liaising with local aid agencies. John has been involved at the leprosy center his entire life.
Kwatekeh also employs 18 agriculture and fish farm workers, three leprosy care workers, one cook, and a motorbike driver.
